Rebirth (Equilibrium II) is the 2nd book of the Equilibrium four book series due on December 15, 2011. What’s this one about? It starts off where Slayer’s Heart (Equilibrium I) left off. Our heroine, Samantha, awakens changed. There is a lot of anger and pain inside her because she feels betrayed by those she trusted and fell in love with. She starts out seeking revenge but soon discovers her soul as the Slayer, and when she believes Julien has wronged her, she leaves for her hometown to wallow in her sorrow, surrounded by familiar things of her past. Including daily visits to her dead boyfriend, Edward Simons’, grave. But her past doesn’t give her any peace because it’s not what it appears to be, and she falls into a depression until Julien comes to her to be with her, leaving her the choice to live or die because although she might want to forget her life as the Slayer, her enemies have not and they’re out to destroy her. Cashush, the giant vampire-turned-vampire-slayer makes an entrance, showing he’d somehow gotten Slayer powers, too, and he’s looking for her. But there is another, stronger, bigger, more powerful foe Samantha hadn’t counted out. Samantha needs to make a hard choice. Either allow herself to grow weak and be hunted down and killed, or to take up the mantle as the new Slayer who is destined to ring in a new era of Slayer Maidens.
